annotated chess game for advanced - page 2

Knowing all this ideas and enjoying the Grünfeld Defense for Black side, I chose the move which leads to known positions:
5.Nxc3 6.bxc3 g6
Preparing the fianchetto on the main diagonal, it is clear that the game further will be specific to Grunfeld Defense.
7.Bb5+
White chooses this move, a tricky one. He could have played also directly 7.d4 with the following possible continuation: 7.Bg7 8.Bd3 0-0 9.0-0 Qc7 10.Qe2 Rd8 11.Rd1 b6 12.Bb2 Nc6 13.Rac1 Bb7 14.e4 e6 15.Qe3 Rd7 16.h4 h6 17.Ba3 Rad8, Filippov 2630 - Lautier 2677, 2003, 0-1 at the 32nd move. You could see how Black can manage to attack the white center.
7.Bd7 8.Qb3
This is why I said that White chose a tricky move.

Of course Black cannot take on b5: 8.Bxb5 9.Qxb5+, and looses the c5-pawn. Less detectable is that after 7.Bg7, White wins again a pawn with 9.Bc4, threatening both f7 and b7. Normally, Black plays 7.Qb6, but the Queen has no other positive role, just a defending one. Then, what to do?
It is said that when you capture a pawn, you loose a little from the positional advantage. And it is also said that capturing non-central pawns leads to disaster. After calculating some variations, and having in mind the principle "In the opening, develop your pieces as quick as possible", my intuition suggested me the right move, giving the pawn on b7:
8.Bg7! 9.Bc4
My opponent was happy. After just 10 moves, he got a pawn advantage.
9.0-0! 10.d4
After 15 minutes of thinking, my opponent was not happy anymore. The capture on b7 would have led to a very bad position.
After 10.Qxb7 Nc6, all the black pieces are harmonious developed, while White is underdeveloped and his queen is not in a happy position at all. Black threatens even to capture the rook on a1: Ra8-b8 and Nc6-b4-c2. A possible continuation could have been: 11.Qa6 Rb8 12.0-0 Nb4 and Black is much better.
10. Nc6
Black develops a piece, but also threatens Nc6-a5 capturing the bishop on c4. Moreover, the knight is excellent positioned for pressing the center.
